Toxoplasmosis might increase the rate of traffic accidents by as much as one million collisions per year, and infection with T. gondii can also contribute to suicides and mental disorders.

Jaroslav Flegr is currently professor of biology at Charles University in Prague, and is a member of the editorial board of the journal Neuroendocrinology Letters. He is the author of the popular science book ‘Frozen evolution’, which aims to explain developments in evolutionairy biology to the general public.
