Biography

Mònica Morales finished her PhD studies (Barcelona, 2002) and moved to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (New York, 2002-2007) where she did a postdoc on DNA damage signaling pathways and repair mechanisms. Back in Barcelona, she worked as Research Associate at Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB, Barcelona, 2007-2012), studying the function and therapeutic potential of metastasis tumor suppressor genes. Attracted to the field of science management, she started as project manager at Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG, Barcelona), where she was later appointed as Head of Core Facilities (2013-present). She is responsible for the operational and financial management of the Core Facilities programme (including 7 core facilities and 2 in-houseservices) while ensuring the provision of state-of-the-art technologies and services, and coordinating the activities of networking and dissemination among others.
