Uroš Kržič graduated in Physics from the University of Ljubljana and did his PhD at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) in Heidelberg. He was from the very beginning involved in the development of the modern light-sheet microscopy, especially focusing on the multi-directional imaging techniques and related image processing. From 2010 to 2013, he worked at EMBL as a staff scientist for optical microscopy, developing novel fluorescent microscopes. From 2009 to 2012 he was also scientific coordinator of the international marine expedition Tara Oceans. He authored over 30 peer-reviewed scientific publications and several patents in the field of microscopy.
Uroš has been working in Carl Zeiss Microscopy since 2013, first as an aplication consultant for laser-scanning microscopes and more recently in the strategic marketing team that guides the development of the laser-scanning microscopes. His expertise cover high-end Carl Zeiss microscopes, including laser-scanning microscopes LSM 880 and LSM 800, Lightsheet Z.1 and super-resolution microscope Elyra PS.1.
