The Babraham Institute, UK

Following her undergraduate degree at Trinity College Dublin, PhD in clinical biochemistry at the University of Cambridge and post-doc at Imperial College London, Cheryl went on to co-ordinate a European Science Foundation Research Network Programme in Functional Genomics. Now as International Grants Manager and Chair of Babraham Institute’s Equality & Diversity Team, Cheryl is thrilled that the Institute’s work on equality and diversity has been recently recognised by a Silver Athena SWAN award. She leads the inclusion of gender equality in research content within the Institute’s equality project in an effort to avoid a biased understanding of human health and to ensure that research outcomes are relevant to all of society.
