Florian has been at the forefront in Spatial Transcriptomics' Research and Development, paving the way for the company's first commercial product launch in 2016. As one of the first stakeholders involved in all aspects of Spatial Transcriptomics' growth, he has played a major role in building the company from the ground up. He developed the company's business models from scratch, creating an accessible resource for academics and business clients alike, and initiated an international marketing campaign. He is currently serving as Interim CEO.
Prior to his tenure at Spatial Transcriptomics, he was a transcriptomics researcher at the Karolinska Institute and the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm where he directed method development and technology transfer projects. He provided quality assurance of multiple NGS projects at the Scilifelab Swedish National Genomics Infrastructure, one of the largest European facilities offering NGS services. He previously conducted neuroscience and behavioral research as a member of the lab of Nobel laureate Bert Sakmann at the Institute of Neuroscience in Munich.
