Gary Geiss

Gary Geiss is a Principal Scientist at NanoString Technologies with over 20 years of experience in the regulation of gene expression and genomic technologies. Gary received his Ph. D. from Colorado State University where he worked on the mechanism of RNA Polymerase I transcription. For his post-doctoral work he moved to Seattle where he was introduced to genomics. There he developed and utilized custom and commercially available DNA microarrays in order to study viral-host cell interactions. Since joining NanoString in 2005, he has been involved in the design and development of the nCounter gene expression system and is currently leading a group to develop 3D assays to simultaneously measure RNA, protein and DNA from the same sample.
