Biography
Kathleen Marchal is Professor at the Dept. of Plant Biotechnology & Bioinformatics and at the Dept. of Information Technology, (IDLab, IMEC) at Ghent University. Her lab focuses on developing computational methods for the analysis, integration and interpretation of systems biology and systems genetics data.
The group’s research has contributed to the development of methods for motif-detection, network inference, and network-based data interpretation. Since 2013 the group’s interest is in the use of network methods for integrative genotype-phenotype mapping. The group is member of the International Cancer Genome Consortium (ICGC)-PAWG network analysis group.
