BIO

Paula Perez Pardo studied Molecular Biology at the Autonoma University in Madrid and at the Free University in Berlin. During her PhD thesis at the Utrecht Institute for Pharmaceutical Sciences in Utrecht, The Netherlands, she studied the gut-brain interactions in Parkinson’s disease pathogenesis under the supervision of Professor Aletta Kraneveld. Her research focus on the involvement of bidirectional communications between the gut and the brain for the genesis of PD-like phenotype and pathology. She also investigated the importance of TLR4-mediated inflammation and changes in microbiota composition in the genesis of PD.
