Seung Yon (Sue) Rhee’s group strives to understand how plant metabolic networks are organized, regulated, function and evolve. Her group develops computational tools to predict metabolic enzymes and pathways and combines experimental approaches to identify how metabolic pathways are regulated and evolve. She received her B.A. in Biology from Swarthmore College in 1992 and Ph.D. in Biology from Stanford University in 1998. She was the founding director of the Arabidopsis Information Resource (TAIR) and has been an investigator at the Plant Biology Department of Carnegie Institution for Science since 1999. Her group is currently developing methods to identify new classes of transcriptional regulators, metabolic exchanges between pathogens and plant hosts, and novel secondary metabolic pathways.
