Originally from Thailand, Supinya graduated with a master in Electronic Engineering before deciding to change track and pursue a Master of Bioinformatics at KULeuven. During this time, she worked at the Rega Institute for Medical Research, characterizing diversity in hepatitis C viral strains.
She is now working as a PhD student at the Verstrepen Lab in the VIB Center for Microbiology. Her project focuses on applying machine learning and classical multivariate statistical techniques to instrumental and sensory data on beer. She is particularly interested in combining data collected in-house with publicly available information to reveal new insights on human preferences and perceptions.
