Xiaoyan Qian is currently a PhD candidate at Stockholm University. She is also co-founder and CSO of CARTANA AB, a Swedish start-up that provides kits and service for in situ sequencing technology. Xiaoyan’s research focuses on the development of novel molecular methods and the complementary analysis tools.
During her PhD, Xiaoyan Qian has been studying tissue structure and functions using in situ sequencing. Recently she developed a method to spatially map cell types defined by single-cell RNA-sequencing, demonstrating its use in the mouse hippocampus CA1 region. She is actively involved in several Human Cell Atlas projects, working on various tissue and cell types.
