"Medical Biotechnology is in an era of rapid transformation because of new disruptive technologies for early diagnosis and more effective therapeutic intervention, even in established chronic diseases," said Nico Callewaert of the VIB-UGent Center for Medical Biotechnology and organizing committee member of this conference. "VIB organizes this focus meeting to provide cutting edge insight delivered by top scientists from academia and industry."

During four plenary sessions the following topics will be covered:

  • biopharmaceutical technology
  • targeted delivery
  • diagnostics & biomarkers
  • vaccines

In addition to the scientific sessions there will be ample opportunities to network during the breaks, posters sessions, reception and conference dinner.

Especially for junior researchers a ‘Meet the Expert' session with Dr. Annemieke Geluk will be organized on the 24th of May. During an informal round table discussion PhD students and postdocs will have the exclusive opportunity to ask any question/advise related to their research and careers. If you are interested in joining the session, then send an e-mail to conferences@vib.be. Seating is limited.
